Source: Central Africa and Ivory Coast
Availability: Increasingly difficult to
source, but a good substitute is available from PNG and Vanuatu
(Pterocarpus indicus).
Air Drying Density: 750 kg/m3
Characteristics: The grain is a deep red and highly
figured. Bubinga is a traditional world class timber, suitable
for any high class work.
Traditional Uses: Marquetry, joinery, furniture, panelling
and veneers.
Generation-4 Timber Top specification:
The Bubinga grain is suitable for the Generation-4
finish.
The Generation-4 finish
presents a dense but flexible, low maintainance finish which
is waterproof, acid and heat resistant.
